You know autumn has come to Geneva, when you smell the hot chestnuts. In fact, autumn in Geneva is all about chestnuts. Chestnuts all over the ground in the Parc des Bastions , chestnuts on the Treille, grilled chestnuts’ shells to crush - that sound, it’s perfect ! - and that famous grilled chestnuts smell everywhere in the city.

I don’t like chestnuts’ taste, but I do like the way they smell - I’m quite complicated with food - but I can tell by the number of people eating some, that it might be appreciable. And they’re hot, the perfect thing for a rainy, windy, cold shopping afternoon.
